We had a great time with Ross & Anna prior to their wedding which you can view here I love just wandering around streets thinking of images with a couple, especially in a beautiful town town such as St Andrews, Scotland.  What Anna & Ross were really after was an image of them at the cafe where Kate met Wills, as it means something to them both too (can you believe that’s been a year since the Royal wedding?) But it was a sad sad day I’m afraid, my favourite lens, a 50mm f1.4 Prime lens which is beautiful on my Nikon D700 went missing, I think while chatting away, swapping over lenses, I left it sitting on a wall…. as I’ve said before, I’m a man, multi tasking is not my strong point   Enjoy!

First wedding of the year photographing the wedding of Jemma & Alan at the Vu, a lovely and modern venue in Bathgate near Edinburgh.  The rain was on and off, on and off (we are in Scotland after all) but with a bit of ducking & diving we managed to shoot some lovely sunny scenes. The second of a triple header wedding (crazy busy for March) had me off to St Andrews for Ross & Anna’s Wedding. I first met Ross & Anna at Orocco Pier, South Queensferry to discuss their day and wedding plans, I can’t believe that was over a year ago now, incredible where time has gone. Brilliant day and such a lovely lovely family, I’ve made some good friends and look forward to designing their Wedding Album!

I Photograph a fair number of weddings at The Vu in Bathgate, near Edinburgh. Photographing so many weddings through out Scotland last year I have a fair bit of blogging to catch up, so I’m starting with Susan & Craigs beautiful wedding at the stunning Eastwood House venue in Glasgow, Scotland.  Susan & Craig allowed plenty time for their photographs, which makes all the difference.  The grounds around the house create beautiful green lush images, an ideal background for Wedding Photographs. Here’s a few from a very wet, but very beautiful wedding, enjoy.

Working through a couple of wedding albums designs today, I came across these photographs from a doorway I found in a park from a wedding in the summer.   I love this sort of setting, especially when your working with couples that have complete trust in me, to do what I envisage.  That’s what wedding photography is really about, having fun moments, romantic moments, capturing spontaneous moments, certainly for my style of photography it is. I’m not a ‘stand still, look at camera, say cheese….’ sort of guy.  The only time I do this is during the necessary family formal photography, except I don’t say cheese.

I’m getting fairly close to being booked up for 2012, there are a number of slots still available so if your getting married in Scotland or anywhere else in the UK and still looking for a Wedding Photographer,  then don’t hesitate to ‘CONTACT’ me by filling out the form and arranging a suitable time for a chat and to view some of my other work.

I know I know, I’ve been neglecting my poor Blog of late. Truth is, this has been my busiest year EVER, shooting just over 40 weddings, with numerous Engagement Shoots, Children & Family Portraits, and the run up to Christmas having about a million (ok slight exaggeration there) Framed Print Orders, Print Orders, Stationary such as Thank You Cards, Gift Vouchers, Save The Date Cards, extra Parent Albums and so on. Then I was in hospital for couple of days after I was really ill for a week, I’m never ill, ever, so this was frustrating, but these things happen I guess.  Thank you for your cards and support and being so understanding, your all great clients. I’m completely fine now thank goodness.  Today saw most of the orders go out the door so the heat is now off and normal service can resume, everyone should get their orders in time for Christmas….Phew! Parent Albums along with some other albums are being designed and sent off to the lab, it’s all very exciting getting to see all the hard work and efforts come back in a beautiful Album. I’ve had some of the most amazing clients this year, and I mean that, everyone has worked really hard, we’ve had some really fun & cool weddings. So what’s next? Well I have just one more wedding to shoot this year, right after Christmas, it would be fantastic if it snowed, I’m at Glenskirlie House & Castle which would look fantastic in the snow. After that, I’ll be Blogging, Blogging and doing even more Blogging to catch up and show you some of the incredibly cool weddings I was talking about. I have some tweaks I want to make to my website, some marketing, a year end slide show, a business plan for 2012, also looking to purchase some new equipment (seriously hope Louise doesn’t read that part….) and working on promoting Children & Family Portraits…. Ideally I want to get a Studio next year…. so watch this space!

As Scottish Wedding Photographers we get to see many fantastic Castles and Palace’s, Linlithgow Palace is no exception. Linlithgow Palace means something to me too as it was here, 15 years ago that Louise and I had our own wedding and family photographs taken in the magnificent Great Hall, which despite being roofless, is still very impressive. Elise and Garry were married in the Palace before going to the Grange Manor for their wedding reception. Here are a few of my favourite photographs of their day! Congratulations guys!
